White Out!

I have a love/ hate relationship with white.  When I am searching for something white to wear to an all white party or just to wear out; and I find the perfect item; it is so mesmerizing to me.. I just love it.  I can't stop looking at it.. To me a white shirt is like a blank canvas, waiting for color to hit it..and I have the perfect color to compliment white.  Gold!
Gold accessories are the perfect touch for a white outfit.

Now my hate comes in when I wear my beautifully put together white outfit, and have to worry about getting something on it the entire night.. Once I get something on it; I never feel the same about the item..even after it has been cleaned.. I know.. It's a mental thing.

This year I am really loving my vintage white wide leg jeans that I picked up from this little boutique last year.  "Beatniks" for $30
Link to Beatniks address

I also have my white skinny jeans.. this year wide leg jeans will be on the fashion do list again..I doubt if they ever will take the place of boot cut or skinny but they are on the list.  Remember everyone can't wear wide leg pants.  Make sure that the pants compliment your shape.. You can find them also online at "Bluefly.com"   Link to Bluefly
If your not going for the jeans.. white shorts are also a must for 2011.

Summer 2011 is also a good time to pull out your white long flowing dress.  It is something about a long dress that's so elegant to me.   You can go casual with just a floppy hat and sandals or you can dress them up.  I have found beautiful sun dresses at Target, Kohls, and Walmart.  I like to mix my inexpensive items with my expensive ones.  I have been known to wear a $15 dollar dress with my $200 shoes... as long as the items compliment each and looks good on you I don't see anything wrong with it..    Victoria Secrets also have sexy Summer dresses.. check them out!

Summer Shoe Style

My shoe obsession takes over every Summer...Ok.  I am lying.  I have a year long shoe obsession that never ends... I go through my closets and boxes and pick out my favorite shoes and tell myself  "Ok. I don't need anymore shoes. I have all the shoes I need ..I don't care... I am not going to buy anymore shoes no matter what!!..."  Then it happens... You know what I am talking about.  One beautiful day; I am driving and spot a pair of shoes in the window that just takes my breath away...

The Summer shoe styles for 2011 will go retro and not like 1960 retro, but more like 2010...remember a year can make a difference in the fashion world.   We will go back to where the Gladiator and Wedge shoes ruled.. and this Summer will bring them back with vengeance!

Lets take the Manolo Blahnik lace cut out sandal (right)... breathless just breathless!

I am also in love with the Robert Cavalli and Jean Paul Gaultier gladiator sandals (below-left).. now these perfect sandals range from $800-1500.00 at Saks Fifth Avenue,  Neiman Marcus, and Nordstrom just a couple of my favorite stores.. but you can also find similiar shoes at Zappos on line.  If you are not in love with the knee high style they also come in ankle height.

My "Go To" shoe for this Summer will be the platform wedge.  You can find wedges in a variety of colors and material.  Wedges give you the height you want without the pain ...although I will never give up my high heel shoes.  Giuseppe designer is my favorite! Ok. back to wedges...  They are extremely comfortable, depending on the arch of the shoe...  You can find the wedge shoe at various stores  Nordstrom Rack, Target, Payless, DSW and Zappos...at fantastic prices.

Vintage Me!!!

All of my friends know I have a deep love for my vintage bags.. from Hermes, Chanel to my extreme love for my LVs' ...   It's something about the worn leather handles and the gold hardward with the tan and brown monogram letters that catches your eye...   I have several LVs' stored away..

Arriving in second place is Gucci.  I sometimes feel like Abigail Rutherford.. I love going to antique shops and boutiques searching for vintage bags and shoes.. I receive instant gratification when I find quality vintage bags for half the price.  I think of my bags as priceless work of art ..

If your really into finding great vintage items that no one else has try looking online for antique shops and boutiques in your area.

Happy Shopping!

Blinging out my blackberry...I am addicted!!

Sorry I have been away for so long.. since apology accepted... on to my new obsession.. my blinged out blackberry/ cell phone!!  This is fastly becoming the #1 fashion accessory.  I have had my blackberry blinged out now for about 4 months.. and I get so many compliments when I pull it out to answer my very important calls ;-)

Since I refuse to pay $50-$100 for someone to take my phone; and add individual Swarovski crystals on it to bling it out.. umph!

I have been able to find a kiosk in the local mall that sells blinged out covers for $10-$20.00!!  and they come in an assortment of designs and colors..

The only drawback.. you have to be careful because the crystals may start to fall off..
The cover is actually good.. I have dropped my phone on several occasions and the case has protected my phone from scratches.. that's also when I tend to lose a crystal or two...

Happy Blinging!!

Hunter Boots phase!

...so I am in my "loving my rubber Hunter boots" phase...$125.00 us at "Zippos.com" (pic below)not including Hunter sox average price $30-40.00 us

I went through my "loving my rubber Coach boots" phase last year (pic below).. average retail price $90.00-145.00 at "Macy's". I got mine on sale at the Macy's in Chicago at Water Tower for $50 bucks!  I was elated!.. but strangly enough..I couldn't get into that "Ugg" phase..not really sure why.. but I am still searching for that love affair .... I think after I viewed the process on how they are created; and found out that there's not much effort put into the designs and patterns; on top of the price retailers charge for them.. I don't think I will ever hit that phase anytime soon...

So I am now asking myself .. "why do you love rubber boots so much??!"  and my answer to myself and others out there; who have asked that same question to my fashionistas; walking around ...Rubber Boots are excellent all weather  boots!..They are great when there is snow and slush on the ground; and rubber boots are excellent during rainy days..Summer or Fall.  There is little to no maintenance required to care for your rubber boots.  You can use the same products that you use to clean and shine your car tires on your rubber boots i.e. "Armor All"..

FYI: "Union Bay" has a rubber boot similiar to the Hunter design  for much less..
